What is Provident Fund Registration?

PF registration is applicable for all establishment which employs 20 or more persons. Registration with Provident Fund Organisation is mandatory for establishments employing 20 or more employees. However, it can also be taken on the voluntary basis with the consent of its employees.

Eligibility for EPF Registration

Online PF Registration is mandatory for organisations/ companies which employ more than 20 individuals( including contractual and permanent employees). In PF Registration , Organisation not having minimum Strength can register themselves voluntary.

Documents required for PF Registration

  • Pan Card, Aadhar Card of Employer (in case of company Pan card of company also required)
  • Cancelled Cheque and Bank Statement
  • Detail of employees (Name ,Father Name, Date Of Birth, Nominee Name)
  • Date of applicability
  • Address proof of establishment (Current account bank statement/Any other documents having firm name)
  • Any Govt Proof (GST Registration, MSME Registration)/Certificate of Incorporation in case of company
  • Digital Signature Of EmployerLimit for PF

EPF Registration Procedure for Employers

An employer can register with online Providend Fund Registration department online or Offline. The registration form can be downloaded from the website of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation(EPFO). Employers need to provide the following details to successfully register themselves.

  • Name and address of company
  • Head office and branch details
  • Mention date of incorporation/registration of company
  • Fill up details of employees – total employee strength
  • Activity the business/enterprise is involved in – i.e. manufacturing, production, service, etc.
  • Legal details – This pertains to legal status of a company, i.e. whether it is a private firm/public company, partnership or society, etc.
  • Owner details, including designation and address of Directors and partners
  • Particulars related to wage component of employees, i.e. total wage disbursed during a month
  • Details of bank with whom company has banking relationship
  • PAN details
  • Basic details of employee (name, date of joining, salary, etc.)

Penalities and Interest on NON Compliance

Default- The amount of damages may not exceed the amount of contribution paid / payable.

  • 1.  Interest on delayed payment 12% p.a.
  • 2.  The percentage of Damages/Penalty leviable are as unde
1.  If delay is less than 2 months @ 5% per annum
2.  If delay is for 2 months & above but less than 4 months @ 10% per annum
3.  If delay is for 4 months & above but less than 6 months @ 15% per annum
3.  If delay is more than 6 months @ 25% per annum
