What is GST Registration (Goods & Service Tax Registration) ?

The main advantages were the removal of cascading effect, lesser compliances and regulation of the unorganized sector. Online GST Registration Process: Steps for GST Registration Process

As per the GST Council, special category states with the annual turnover of Rs.20 lakhs required to register under GST. Online GST Registration process involves various criteria's to make the entity liable for obtaining the GST registration in Delhi. Entities also required for the GST REGISTRATION as per regulations must file the GST application

If anyone wants to register for GST then we would have to follow the following steps:-

  • 1.  Go to official site https://reg.gst.gov.in , click on service tab and select registration from the drop-down menu.
  • 2.  Click on new registration tab and enter the necessary details like you are a taxpayer/ GST Practitioner or a tax deductor, then fill your region, email ID, mobile number for one time password verify the details and click on proceed.
  • 3.  OTP will be on the email id and the mobile number you entered. Enter the OTP and continue
  • 4.  A temporary reference number will be on the display and the email id and phone number as well.
  • 5.  Now again go to service and click on registration. This time select the temporary reference number.
  • 6.  Enter the TRN number verify the number and proceed
  • 7.  An OTP will be sent to the email id and phone number enter the OTP and proceed.
  • 8.  A draft format will show the status of the application now click on the edit option.
  • 9.  Now, this part will have 10 sections. Fill the details and submit the scanned documents. Keep some documents handy like a photograph, constitution of the taxpayer, proof of the place of business, bank details and authorization form.
  • 10.  Once all the documents are uploaded go to the verification page. Tick the declaration and submit the form using any of these:
    •   Companies must submit application using DSC
    •   Using e-sign OTP will be sent to the registered Aadhaar registered number
    •   Using EVC OTP will be sent to the registered number

A success message will flash on the display and application reference number will be sent to the mobile number and registered email id

Later on, you can check the status of registration by entering ARN number in the portal.

Condition for Apply For GST Registration

Common Terms Used in GST Registration

GST Registration Number:

GST Number is a 15 Digit PAN Based Number that will be assigned to every taxpayer. The first two digits of GSTIN will represent the state code. Each state has a unique two digit code like "07" for Delhi and "08" for Uttarpradesh. The next ten digits of GSTIN will be the PAN number of the taxpayer. The 13th digit indicates the number of registrations an entity has within a state for the same PAN. It will be an alpha-numeric number (first 1-9 and then A-Z) and will be assigned on the basis of number of registrations a legal entity (having the same PAN) has within one state.

The fourteenth digit will be "Z" by default which has no significance currently.The Last digit is a check code to detect error.
